Forza Horizon 6 has taken our virtual racing adventures to the beautiful roads of Japan, and honestly, the map is an absolute blast to explore. But let’s be real—nothing matches the pure excitement of tracking down a classic hidden away in an old garage. One of the coolest additions to the game's hidden roster is the legendary 1987 Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500. It is a legendary '80s touring car built for racing homologation, and it is waiting for you to rescue it. If you are struggling to spot the exact location on your map, or if you have driven out there and found nothing but empty space, here is exactly how to unlock it and find it.
First: The Campaign Unlock RequirementBefore you go driving out into the wilderness, you need to make sure the game will actually let you find it. If you head to the spot too early, you will just find an empty barn. To trigger this barn find, you have to reach Level 2: Tourist rank (the one with the Yellow/Green Stamp) in the main campaign. You can climb up to this rank pretty quickly by diving into the "Discover Japan" activities. Just grind out some XP and EP by checking off street races, conquering touge runs, hunting down hidden mascots, or just pushing through the main story missions. Once you hit the required rank, keep an ear out for the search rumor to pop up on your map. Exact Barn Location ExplainedThe Sierra Cosworth is tucked away on the western edge of the Ito region, right along the border shared with Tokyo City.
Here is the step-by-step route to get right to it: The Region: Open up your map and aim for the southwestern side, deep into the Ito region. Map Markers: Look for the Sekibe Circuit and the Inakadate Tanbo Rice Art. The barn sits directly west-northwest of the circuit and just south of the rice art area. The Route: Set a waypoint for the crossroads located just underneath the Satta Sprint road racing event. Drive south from this intersection. Pay close attention to the right side of the road—just before the main road swings into a sharp, 90-degree right turn, you will spot a break in the barrier and an unmarked gravel path. The Approach: Turn onto this winding gravel track. Follow it as it climbs up into a small, wooded hill. The trail will deliver you right into an old industrial storage zone where the barn is hiding.
Claims and RestorationOnce you pull up to the location, the classic Horizon cutscene will trigger. You will find this iconic '80s beast tucked away inside an old, weathered shipping container. After the cinematic wraps up, the car is officially yours and gets sent straight to your garage for a full restoration. From here, you have two options to get it road-ready: The Patient Route: Just keep driving, completing events, and exploring Japan. The car will slowly repair itself over time for absolutely free. The Fast Route: If you simply can't wait to take those retro turbos for a spin, you can jump into the game menu and pay a credit fee to instantly finish the restoration and unlock the car right away.
